Living in the New York City area, the horizon is almost always blocked. I decided to be lazy and get a view of the sunset from my usual spot, the dining room window.

Sun setting over the Hudson River. The Yonkers waterfront has been revamped in recent years. It's worth a visit, though there's not much else to do as you drive north along Warburton Avenue.

Rush-Hour Commute at Dusk

5 p.m., Bronx River Road, Yonkers. I like when clouds form this kind of feathery blanket light diffuses through.
